Face Masks & True Patriots
When Canada’s Far-Right leaders begin speaking out in frustration about the anti-maskers you know the pernicious Pandemic is winning:
“Yes, we have Charter protected rights in Canada. But we also have responsibilities as citizens…
“It’s irresponsible to gather in large numbers, especially at this point in the pandemic. It shows a disregard for health care workers & the vulnerable. There are lots of ways to protest govt policies without risking viral spread.
“Talk to my friend in the ICU!” said Alberta Premier Jason Kenney.
Masks Don’t Work?
Tell that to the families (like mine) of our valiant soldiers who wore them in the horrid mustard gas attacks of WWI — just imagine how it felt to be standing with your buddies on the bleak bloody battlefields of France and see those pale yellow poison clouds drifting toward you on the wind.
And our brave pilots who fought evil forces in the Battle of Britain.
BUT WAIT! You’re not being asked to go fight for your country, God forbid. Just to wear a little cloth or fiber mask to protect your fellow citizens. IT’S EASY!
HONOUR OUR VETERANS WHO FOUGHT TO PROTECT THE FREEDOMS YOU SO EASILY TAKE FOR GRANTED. MASK UP!
The recent news release headlined “Thousands of Top U.S. Hospitals Encourage Everyone to #MaskUp” caught our attention: “Growing numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths are troubling; facemasks can slow the trend.”
The hospital group’s message was clear: “As the top nationally-ranked hospitals, we know it’s tough that we all need to do our part and keep wearing masks. But, here’s what we also know: The science has not changed. Masks slow the spread of COVID-19. So, please join us as we all embrace this simple ask: Wear. Care. Share on your social media with #MaskUp. Together, wearing is caring. And together, we are saving lives.”
“When we both have a face mask, I protect you, you protect me.”
